SPECIAL EVENTS MARKED DURING THE YEAR
Chanukah ceremony and awarding of scholarships. During Chanukah (December), a gala ceremony is held marking the holiday and scholarships and special awards are presented to students. Honors include scholarships for being on the Dean’s List and the College President’s List, for outstanding scholarship and for outstanding contributions to sports and social activity in the College.
Amizur Run – A special race/run is held in the middle of the year to commemorate Amizur Shapira, a track and field teacher at the College who was among the 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the Munich Olympic Games in 1972. A pre-run ceremony is held in Amizur’s memory. Participants include College students, soldiers and runners from elsewhere in Israel.
ASA Games – Students from the College compete in the ASA (Academic Sports Association) Games that are held in Eilat (windsurfing, basketball, tennis, volleyball and other sports) and in campuses around the country in May. Participating in the games are athletes from all the universities and colleges in Israel.
Graduation Ceremony – The graduation ceremony at which diplomas and awards are presented is held in mid-June.
